DJ PlayDAT

Craig Mangrum also known as DJ PlayDAT is a native of Emporia, Virginia a small town near Richmond, Virginia. Born in 1986, DJ PlayDAT began DJing with his father at the tender age of 12 doing BBQs, Weddings, & Family Reunions. Blessed, he then took a four year hiatus as he received a full four year football scholarship. During this time he was fortunate to connect with various cultures, which made him appreciate different genres of music. With his career and his love for music developing, PlayDAT decided to take his craft to the next level by attending the SCRATCH ACADEMY in beautiful Miami, Florida founded by the late Jam Master Jay. Here DJ PlayDAT expanded his knowledge of disco jockeying by learning from the likes of DJ Bounce (Miami Heat DJ), DJ Escher (Top Miami DJ) and DJ S.O.S.(Top Miami DJ). Upon his return from the Scratch Academy DJ PlayDAT placed 6th of 25 DJs during DC's WPGC DJ competition. Currently, DJ PlayDAT is a favorite across DC,MD,VA & the Carolinas and continues to hone his skills at the Beat Refinery in Bethesda, MD under US Champions DJ Trayze,DJ AS1, DJ Precision P. He is known for providing creative soundtracks and unforgettable fun for; weddings, anniversaries, summer time BBQs, college parties, pool parties, various charities, rocking clubs and lounges all over the DC/MD/VA/NC/SC areas.
